Behind Every Failure, There’s a Human Story

Picture this: your email won’t load for two minutes, or your connection glitches during a critical meeting. Frustrated and full of anger, you immediately call your IT-Support / your Consultant, venting about the “damn systems” failing again followed by “Can’t you folks do anything correct? It can’t be that hard!”. But what you might forget about is the person on the other end – someone juggling a dozen different issues, piecing together solutions, and working tirelessly to restore your service as quickly as possible. And yes – it can be “that hard” sometimes.

A network is not as easy as AI-Marketing-Slides tell you – in fact I believe that no AI will ever run a network perfectly fine without human intervention – we will always need humans to carefully tune algorithms in order to create “the perfect network”. AI will support us but never replace us – at least I don’t see it yet (who knows what the future brings, right?)

These moments of inconvenience are part of the journey of people who show up daily to solve problems, adapt to challenges, and keep the digital world running smoothly despite the inevitable hiccups due to the overwhelmingly amount of new tech popping up every day. In IT networking, every system failure is a chance to learn, improve, and strengthen the backbone of our connected lives. No one creates an outage on purpose or to purposely anger anyone.

So, the next time something doesn’t work perfectly, take a deep breath before you literally yell at your IT folks and remember: someone is working behind the scenes, doing everything they can to make it right. Let’s take a moment to appreciate their dedication and resilience.

And don’t forget: People in IT are humans and have feelings too – It’s okay to be angry if something is not working but you really don’t need to shout at us.
